4 Days Mount Meru Trekking
Overview
Embark on a 4-day Mount Meru trek, Tanzania’s second-highest peak, offering stunning scenery and rich wildlife encounters. Hike through lush forests, home to giraffes, buffalo, and monkeys, before ascending into moorland and alpine zones. Overnight in mountain huts, summit Socialist Peak (4,566m) at sunrise for breathtaking views of Kilimanjaro and the Rift Valley, then descend through Arusha National Park. Itinerary Details
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
Arrive at Kilimanjaro/Arusha Airport, where your driver will transfer you to your hotel in Arusha. Relax from your journey, meet your trekking guide for a briefing, and prepare your gear for the adventure ahead. Dinner and overnight in Arusha.

Meal Plan: Bed & Breakfast
Day 2: Arusha – Momella Gate (1,500m) – Miriakamba Hut (2,500m)
After breakfast, drive to Arusha National Park and complete registration at Momella Gate. Begin your trek through lush forests, with chances to see giraffes, buffalo, and monkeys. Enjoy scenic views of waterfalls before reaching Miriakamba Hut for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Miriakamba Hut – Saddle Hut (3,570m)
Trek steadily uphill through montane forest into heather and moorland. Along the way, spot wildlife and enjoy panoramic views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Arrive at Saddle Hut for lunch and acclimatization. Optional hike to Little Meru (3,820m) for a warm-up climb and sunset views. Dinner and overnight at Saddle Hut.

Day 4: Saddle Hut – Socialist Peak (4,566m) – Miriakamba – Momella Gate – Arusha
Start your summit attempt around midnight, ascending via Rhino Point and Cobra Point to reach Socialist Peak at sunrise. Marvel at sweeping views of Kilimanjaro, the Great Rift Valley, and Meru Crater.
Descend to Saddle Hut for brunch, then continue to Miriakamba Hut and down to Momella Gate. Transfer back to Arusha for dinner and overnight or onward departure.
