8 Days North Serengeti Migration Safari
Overview
This 8-day safari takes you on an unforgettable journey through Tanzania’s iconic parks, following the path of the Great Migration. Begin in Tarangire, famed for its elephant herds and towering baobabs, before venturing into the Serengeti. Spend two nights in the northern Serengeti, where the Migration crosses the Mara River in a dramatic display of survival, also spend 2 nights in the central plains, home to lions, cheetahs, and vast herds. Visit the Ngorongoro Crater, a breath-taking natural amphitheatre teeming with diverse wildlife, including the rare black rhino. At the end of your tour, visit Lake Manyara National Park. This tour is best from July to October every year.
Itinerary Details
DAY 1: Arrival in Kilimanjaro or Arusha Airport
After arrival at the airport (Kilimanjaro / Arusha), your private driver guide will pick you up at the airport and transfer you to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

DAY 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After an early breakfast, we depart for Tarangire National Park. Tarangire National Park, in northern Tanzania, is celebrated for its vast elephant herds, towering baobab trees, and remarkable biodiversity. The park’s lifeline, the Tarangire River, attracts large concentrations of wildlife, particularly during the dry season, offering exceptional game viewing opportunities. Visitors can encounter lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and an impressive array of over 500 bird species. Its scenic beauty and rich wildlife make Tarangire a must-visit safari destination year-round.
After having Lunch at a picnic site and an extensive game drive, we head straight to your lodge in Karatu, arriving late afternoon for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

DAY 3: Karatu to Serengeti National Park
Set off from your accommodation and journey to the northern Serengeti. This region is world-renowned for the Great Migration, where massive herds of wildebeest and zebra brave the treacherous Mara River crossings, creating one of nature’s most dramatic spectacles.
Enjoy a picnic lunch en route and continue with game drives that bring you close to thrilling wildlife encounters.
Spend two unforgettable nights in the north at a tented camp or lodge, where evenings are filled with the sounds of the wilderness under a starlit sky.

DAY 4 - 5: Explore North Serengeti following the Great Migration (river crossing)
Set off from your accommodation and journey to the northern Serengeti. This region is world-renowned for the Great Migration, where massive herds of wildebeest and zebra brave the treacherous Mara River crossings, creating one of nature’s most dramatic spectacles.

DAY 6: North to central Serengeti National Park
After breakfast in the Northern Serengeti, begin your scenic drive toward the central plains, enjoying the changing landscapes along the way. Pause for a picnic or bush lunch amidst the wilderness before continuing your journey. Arrive in the Seronera region, the heart of the Serengeti, famous for its rich wildlife and big cat sightings.
Enjoy an afternoon game drive, exploring the area’s diverse habitats, before heading to your tented camp or lodge for relaxation, a delicious dinner, and an overnight stay.

DAY 7: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater to Karatu
After breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for game viewing drive.
Undoubtedly, the Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa’s most famous sites and is said to have the highest density of wildlife in Africa. Sometimes described as an ‘eighth wonder of the world’, the Crater has achieved world renown, attracting an ever-increasing number of visitors each year. You are unlikely to escape other vehicles here, but you are guaranteed great wildlife viewing in a genuinely mind-blowing environment.
There is nowhere else in Africa quite like Ngorongoro! Undeniably, it is one of the best places in the country to see the endangered black rhinoceros. Furthermore, the park is home to the entirety of The Big Five. It is particularly good place to see lions, herds of wildebeest, zebras and cape buffalo year-round.
A packed lunch will be served at a picnic site. Late afternoon, ascend the crater and drive to your lodge in Karatu, arriving late afternoon for relaxation, dinner and overnight.

DAY 8: Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha
After breakfast, we drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Lake Manyara National Park, nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment in northern Tanzania, is known for its stunning scenery and diverse habitats, from lush groundwater forests to expansive alkaline lake shores. Famous for its tree-climbing lions, large elephant herds, and flocks of flamingos, the park also shelters giraffes, hippos, zebras, and over 400 bird species.
After lunch at a designated picnic site, we finalize our game drive and head back to Arusha city either at your accommodation if you wish to stay longer or at the airport to catch your flight to your next destination
